Tedo Arrives!

I am trying to catch up with all we have been doing lately! Tedo came over to Maui and stayed about a month-he was a good little roommate.  We had a lot of random experiences, but we tried to be as active as possible.  Losing the car kind of put a damper on that, but we still tried!  We went hiking at Bamboo Forrest in Haiku, free dived with sharks, snorkeled all over the island, caught a few Sundays at Little Beach, traveled to Lahaina and Paia, camped in Hana, hiked the Bamboo Forrest in Hana, endulged in Venus Pool, swam through caves at Wainapanapa, hiked and hung out at Red Sand Beach, tried to move over to Lana'i, had an entire movie marathon day, splurged at Mama's Fish House one more time, and spent many many memorable nights doing nothing but hanging out with good company!  I hope Tedo enjoyed his stay as much as we did! Tedo-Mahalo for coming and for everything!!  We miss you already, and you are welcome back as soon as you realize you made a mistake by leaving!

Pat

When we still had ole Snowflake, one day that Patrick had to work Tedo and I spent the day in Lahaina.  We walked around front street (which i like to compare to Seaside-very touristy, yet fun shopping and site seeing) and ate at Cheeseburger in Paradise (very cheesy, no pun intended, or maybe it is...) and then spent the afternoon at Black Rock, snorkeling and relaxing.

The Banyan Tree off Front Street is a HUGE tree with roots growing above ground.  It looks like many different trees, but is actually all connected.

After work Pat tends to bring the party with him, which has proved quite interesting, and very fun!

Pat and Tedo took a day to the North Shore-this is where all the pretty good surfers like to go...its fun to watch

We met a fun couple who was out here on their honeymoon and one Sunday, actually Superbowl Sunday, we all went to Little Beach for the fire dancers...

I will stop here for now!  Tomorrow I will post about our 3rd trip to Hana when Peter came in town!! Enjoy for now!

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY EVERYONE!!

i really, really, REALLY wish we had one of these!

As i was discussing Fat Tuesday and the King Cake with some co-workers at lunch, they informed me that the goods over here for Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras are called Malasadas.  I looked it up and here's what i gathered-it is a Portuguese pastry that looks a lot like a sugary beignet! I'm a wikipedia nerd, so if anyone else is interested...here you go-check out the Malasadas!  (for all the Catholics, it also started within the Catholic tradition)

XoXo,
Lace.
